I dunno....

I got repeated billing from Airgas for my oxygen bottle on my torch rig - even though I owned my tank....

I had swapped cylinders through them - and they were trying to say I rented the tank from them...

But - oddly - they could not find my " rental agreement". (As it did not exist).

They finally backed off when I threatened them with a lawyer....

How come nobody is going after those pricks?

When we moved here there was a huge LP tank outside that was for the heater on the spa/pool. We had no idea how long it had been here and the heater itself certainly didn't look like a safe piece of equipment. We really didn't want to use it anyway...you really don't need to heat the pool when there are weeks of 90 degree + temps. Anyway, I called the company whose name was on the tank and asked them to come get it. We had been in the house a couple years by then and we wanted to get rid of it and the heater and build a shed over the other pool equipment with room to store chemicals and things.

I went round and round with them and they wouldn't come get it. Then they decided they would start charging rent on the damn thing...it was probably put in by the people who had the house built and there was another owner between them and us.

It just so happened I was on a contract position with a welding supply company. I talked to the boss about it and he gave me the number to the Railroad Commission (who is in charge of such things in Texas). I called the company back and told them how many days I would give them to get rid of that damn tank before I called the commission. It hadn't been inspected by the company in who knows how long. It took about two days for it to disappear and we never heard another word out of them.
