OK, let's be honest here. Absolutely no one gets taxed into poverty; that's not a thing. Those with high incomes get taxed more because they can pay more, but then they return the favor by hiding their income, so they actually get taxed less. The wealthy pay a far lower percentage of their income in taxes than the middle class, who basically have no way to hide income. And tax is not theft. We live in a civilization that requires infrastructure. Without it, our civilization doesn't work very well. The rich use that infrastructure to a higher degree than the poor and middle class. Companies need roads and bridges and high speed Internet and they need healthy workers. This has always been the case in the civilized world; nothing has changed.
