They won't shoot back. They never do. That's what ethnic cleansers count on, and it's a safe bet. It's said that generals have a tendency to fight the last war, and we could see all the civil war fetishizing as a civilian expression of that - but what theyre talking about isn't a civil war.
It's not a civil war. That's not what these people are fantasizing about - it's just the thematic vehicle for the fantasy. This really has to sink in for us to go from making fun of rednecks cosplaying rebels to a better understanding of the situation in reality. The reason that they've maintained the fiction that the trumpster is still president, and secretly in control, and gathering evidence... is down to seeing that future where federal forces sweep and bag dissidents with enthusiastic support from local death squads.
It's that, it's not civil war...
Consider all of the ideas leftists have about the ability of the us government to abuse, and violently abuse, people. Here..there, anywhere. They all believe in this stuff too - that's why they're disaffected with establishment types. They fear a future in which the power of our government, elected by the people...but..not..their people..if you catch my drift..... is levied against them, and see the destruction of the majority as the only way to prevent that inevitable state of affairs. They fear that they're being replaced, being marginalized..and it's on the back of true beliefs about how the us treats marginalized communities that they unironically seek to establish a permanent minority rule. They're not combatants, they're weak people flirting with the idea of killing their neighbors because, deep down..they know their neighbors will one day have to dispense with them. They insist.
