My other daughter turns 40 next Monday. Son is 34. Oldest and youngest are atheist...middle one goes to church when it suits her or gets her in the good graces of someone she needs something from. Oldest granddaughter is atheist. Will see what happens with the other ones.

I have no children. I'm the eldest of four, the others are 70, 65 and 61. My oldest nephew is 50.
I'm not a patriarch, but am the senior member of my extended family. That doesn't really mean I'm seen as the head of the family. More like that relative people feel obliged to invite whether they want to or not. I stopped going years ago to that kind of thing unless the person concerned is already in my life. I suspect my funeral will held in a telephone box. Do I care? Hell no, on account of being dead and all.
