Plus; It was queen Victoria who popularised white wedding dresses. Before then, brides were free be as inventive as they liked.
Below a clip from my favourite TV wedding; Alice and Hugo from The Vicar of Dibley. I was trying the find the procession; the attendants are dressed as Teletubbies. The vicar is of course Dawn French
Love me some ‘Vicar of Dibley’, I does.

Me too .Sadly Three of the cast members have died, including Emma Chambers (Alice). She was my favourite among a cast of wonderfully eccentric characters.

One of my favourite lines from Hugo's dour father, in reply to some proposition he didn't like :"I'd rather eat my own scrotum"
One of the farmers in the mix went onto village radio with his opinion piece "Is sex with a poodle always wrong?"
Alice and Hugo had seven children because Alice got confused with the pill. The truly sad thing is I actually met a woman like that. She'd miss a day so she'd start on a new packet.Result, pregnancy. Baby had spina bifida. Both parents far too stupid to cope.
