I have seen where the applicant fought the agency for years - then when approved recieved a rather large check for payments back to the day first claimed...
6 months after disability date (5 months waiting period from disability date, payments begin in the 6th month). Then begins a 1 year waiting period to qualify for Medicare coverage.
