One of the neighbors hasn't gotten a deer yet - so I went and got another doe tag. If I get one I will give it to him. We'll see if I can get 6 to his zero......
😄
You’d love deer hunting here - game is plentiful and there is no hunting ‘season’ and no bag limits.

One of the many joys of a lower population density....

But if someone is going to eat meat, it seems like hunting is the only way respectable to the animal, unlike industrial farming and meat factories.
I've often wondered how I would go if I had to kill my own meat. Because human beings are omnivores, I suspect I would soon overcome my revulsion. Perhaps starting with fish and chickens. Not sure if I could ever kill a pig. Delicious as they are, they're far too intelligent.
Road kill? Perhaps if I killed it with my car or saw it killed by another, but not otherwise.
My local supermarket sells kangaroo meat, as minced meat, steak, sausages and salami. I've eaten 'roo once and enjoyed it. I thought it was beef. It's much leaner than meat, but I just cannot eat it because they are such beautiful animals. (even if farmers treat them as vermin) Same with horses.
You have not eaten more delicious meat than a piece of backstrap - still warm from the kill - fried in butter and garlic.....
I started drooling while I was still cutting it off the deer
I had missed breakfast - so there' s that..
