30 Days to the opening of firearm deer season.

This year should be interesting.

For some reason my SO and my older sister both got it in their heads that they would take up deer hunting this year.

My elevated (7.62 meter) hunting blind is really only built for one person (2.3  x 2.3 meter) so I built a second ground blind - around my new shooting bench design. Not as nice as the elevated - no heat, electricity or flat screen TV - but it's nicely camo-ed and a stable gun rest. So I can hunt when the girls are using my elevated blind and my new rifle. I'm stuck using the shotgun I built 15 years ago. Oh well.

We have 9 tags between the three of us - and I told the girls I will gut and process anything they shoot - so I'm probably gonna be busy.

At least they both have to work opening day - so I get first crack at it.

I'll be up early in the blind - getting my new charcoal heater I designed going - making coffee - and snarfing a couple donuts - waiting for sunrise..

Shit's gonna die.

I go deer hunting a couple of times a month.  I hunt through the meat cooler at the local market to find just the right hacked-off sector of deer.
