The problem with all of these quotes from a "holy" book is that, in the end, it's nothing more than an utter load of complete bollocks (seriously).
The threat of an eternity of suffering if you don't believe in nothing more than fear mongering. It has been said that religion is the greatest scam invented by man. It promises that you'll have a great time in the afterlife if you obey its leaders during your life, but no one can come back and complain afterwards.
The "gave his only begotten son", is also a load. He supposedly knocked up some poor Jewish girl with himself to change his own rules! This is the very best the creator of the universe, who can do anything with a thought, could come up with?
And giving up his long weekend to become god-emperor of the cosmos is hardly a sacrifice, is it? I'm not discounting the pain and suffering of any crucificion, it must truly be horrendous, but it seems a minor inconvenience for Jesus.
And then there's the fact that everything contained in the three Abrahamic religions haved "occurred" in a relatively tiny and isolated part of the Middle-East.
Why not one of the great civilizations of the time, China or Rome, itself?

Dying to live, living to die.
