How well has this worked for you? If by "major jerk", you mean to the level of narcissists or antisocials, I have found that trying to mimic their patterns of behavior just made things more stressful for me. It's easier and more relieving for me long-term to disconnect from them when/if possible and focus instead on the people whom I find pleasant to be/interact with.

I think I haven't met any narcissists. What’s an antisocial?

I have encountered people in real life, at work, who make stupid jokes, so I do the same with them.
I haven’t had any nasty arguments with people at work.

I also carry conversations online. I have encountered people who start with the name calling. It can happen that I just copy and their unfriendly lines and I respond and click on send. Eventually, they stop responding.

It depends on my mood. Sometimes, I just tell them that I am not interested in having a piss fight.

In any case, if the other person approaches a conversation with namecalling, then they aren’t interested in listening.
So, the question is, how can we change their attitude?

Here is an example that I had saved. I think his Youtube name was The Truth Channel.
Apparently, I had asked him to email me but the conversation turned sour in 2 steps and I was no longer interested in talking to him.
He was also way too illogical.

COLLECTION:
1. sponge-like brain
2. completely unlearned atheists
3. that is, unless, you think modern atheists are smarter than Isaac Newton
4.  See? Ignorance. Atheism is an echo chamber of the willfull unethical ignorance

Quote:Him:
“You need to re-read my previous email until the content seeps into your sponge-like brain.”

Me:
==I’m no longer interested in talking to you.

Me:
"The thing about Bible prophecies is that they are vague and also generic enough that they can fit various time periods"

Him:
That is a poorly thought through selling point given by atheist leaders and then relentlessly echoed by the atheist echo chamber. This is absolutely NOT true. For ex. Matt 24. Jesus gives a specific prophecy that is one of the most confused prophecies among the church but only because your Christian has very little understanding of Exegesis. Yet somehow you expect completely unlearned atheists to do a better job at it than the average ignorant Christian. This is also a poorly arrived at conclusion. Matt 24. Jesus gives specific things that can only happen during a specific time, a specific day and to a specific people at ONE specific location. That isnt vague. Among atheists 'It sounds like a general broad-sweeping statement so therefore, it must be vague' yet among scholars they look at atheists and say 'They see generalities because they are ignorant concerning Biblical and Theological specificities.' That is, unless, you think modern atheists are smarter than Isaac Newton the father of modern Physics, algorithmic computation and optics?

Me:
Besides, you have prophecies that contradict each other and also fail.

Ezekiel also prophesied that Nebuchadnezzar would destroy Tyre, which would never again be rebuilt (Ezekiel 26:7-14, but Nebuchadnezzar's siege of Tyre failed to take the city, and Tyre still exists today. A curious thing about this prophecy against Tyre is that Isaiah also predicted that Tyre would be destroyed, but, whereas Ezekiel predicted that Tyre would be permanently destroyed and "nevermore have any being," Isaiah prophesied that it would be made desolate only for a period of 70 years. A comparison of these two prophecies is an easy way to show the silliness of claiming that prophecy fulfillment proves the inspiration of the Bible.

Him:
'Tyre' was a code name for Babylon in Ezekiel and Isaiah's time in the same way Babylon was a code name for Rome in the time of the Apostles. Babylon was destroyed. It will never again be rebuilt. See? Ignorance. Atheism is an echo chamber of the willfull unethical ignorance of 2 or 3 atheist leaders who lie to people like you because they know theres a market for it. The problem is convenient ignorance in order to insulate against an inconvenient truth.

Me:
"How could anyone determine that the jewish god sent Jesus?"

Him:
You realize there are extensive reasons for this and countless resources including Sir Isaac Newton's own 'On the Apocalypse of Daniel' - Newton along with countless others who've actually studied comprehensively Biblical prophecy and history concluded 2 things. 1. Prophecy points to the God of the Bible being what HE claimed. 'The Most HIGH GOD' the Creator of space and time and even the creator of the gods who are what the Bible refers to as 'Angelic princes' or 'Principalities in the New Testament. and 2. Prophecy points to Christ. So, if 1 is true then 2 must also be true as well.
