For example, the story about the woman who shot an intruder multiple times - the story describes this as ‘an attempted burglary’. Unless we know for certain that the intruder was there to kill someone, it isn’t possible to say that the woman’s use of a gun saved anyone’s life.
To be clear, I’m not arguing that there are cases where private citizens with guns DO save lives. That can’t be sensibly refuted. I’m arguing that the estimates used by FA are - at best - suspect. He seems to want to make up numbers until he finds one that fits his narrative.

They like to include suicide, self defense and justified police shootings into their death totals.
No argument - not all gun deaths are gun crimes. But that wasn’t really the point, which is that it’s almost impossible to determine how many how many citizen shootings actually ‘save lives’. I’m sure it happens, I’m just not sure we can know how often.
