An unlikely scenario to be sure, but not an impossible one. But that’s my point - unless we know the motive of ANY person shot by a civilian, it’s damned difficult to know how many lives are saved by guns. But we can be fairly confident that it’s not the 300 000 FA imagines it to be.

I think a much more likely is 300k a year stop an incident. Burglars and rapists detered for instance.
When I had CCW classes here at my place I heard more than a few stories of guns preventing bad shit from happening - and in each case a shot was not fired. Just the presence of the gun was deterrent enough. Saved lives? In one case - it was quite likely.
But again - the media doesn' t print horrible things averted....
Burglaries and rapes don’t generally result in deaths. FA’s claim was that guns save 300 000 lives per year.
