As it stands, clown army being executed more than engaged in combat. I'm sure, just absolutely certain, that the surviving troops of these utterly defeated regiments are going to do very well on the eastern front - where there's been a trench stall for almost a decade, and ukraine had preemptively massed it's best and most well equipped forces. Meanwhile, the first batch of ukrainian volunteers is set to complete training and enter the battlefield.
Executing a mass attack with what is essentially a scratch force of defeated units hastily reorganized, lacking proper air support ... I'm not buying great odds of success, especially now that the scope of the atrocities is clear and every Ukrainian civilian knows what defeat would mean.

That was actually the Poles who were turning away African and Asian exchange students and workers at the border, from my readings, rather than Ukraine refusing to let them leave the country.
