Well shit, somebody should have just told the cops they could roll them at their first convenience, then, huh? Sounds more like you never actually had a right to lose on that one.
Now, here in the us, when crafting legislation, we don't (and in fact can't) immediately assume mal intent. Or, in plain language, just because a law might be misapplied or misused - that won't mean that it's unconstitutional. Cops are a great example. We know that cops end up committing abuses and actual rights abrogation, but that simple fact however well evidenced will never amount to a legal argument for the illegality of policing and laws about policing.
