The average woman has to fight to get anything as far as child support goes with the men often waiting till they are going to be picked up on a warrant and then make a small payment toward their back child support. In the meantime, the child still needs food, clothing, housing, and care. If all women had the money to hire big, powerful attorneys and keep going back to court again and again then the concept of child support being something that happens like it should would maybe work.
Of course, this is not always the case. But when it is the case, the child suffers and the court system profits. Maybe that's why they want more babies and fewer terminations.
Honestly, the whole system is soup sandwich. Even if a person was of "great means" - or at least enough to get a lawyer..to sue for back child support.....
The biggest so-called dead beat dads...the ones who owe huge sums in child support? There are laborers...who owe millions. In fact, that's the majority of the big offenders. People who've literally never seen the money our system claims they owe. They charge interest, you see...as though they're loaning the custodial parent money in the meantime...... Now, this certainly doesn't mean that there aren't people who game the system to shirk their relatively minor child support commitments. I have a buddy who refuses to pay and has the states blessing in his refusal. Point being, the system we have works (and makes sense) for no one in this equation.
OFC OLB wants to take a flaming dumpster fire and make it even more abusive, and even more punitive, and no more functional or useful - that's his thing. Strikes me as the kind of guy who would push the button to end all people, if it was within his reach.
