Funny thing - I was thinking that the freebie murder would be the interest. Real damages would be lost wages for the innocent person’s expected earnings for time incarcerated, plus, say, 50% for the trauma involved in being unjustly imprisoned. Being allowed to kill someone - the cop that framed you, the prosecutor who withheld exculpatory evidence, the witness who lied under oath - would be lagniappe.
