As has often been noted..one of the flaws in the idea that progressives in the us are the root cause of some failure, is that both american political parties are right wing. One is meh okay right wing..the other is holy shit right wing. Bernie Sanders, AOC, Elizabeth Warren. There are your moderates.
Their message is no more radical than "hey, a little less rape and pillage, if we please?" Aside from that, the entire american political establishment is all about taking us back to the good old bad old days - current admin included. That was both of their pitches.
