Not surprised. Manchin knows WV has a very anti-abortion electorate. He knows a vote for codification will hurt his 2024 bid. His favorability ratings in WV after all his recent shenanigans have gone UP majorly in the state.

That's the infuriating bit. West Virginians have abortions, they fucking -love- havin them some abortions. It's just that dems don't actually want to run on abortion, in wv or anywhere else. That's for the primaries, not the general. The pojnt of being pro choice - politically, as a dem in primaries..is as a trade for some bit of corporatist arglebargle. Hi, I'm, Bill.
