These things tend to be dependant on the observer's biases. Freedom fighter/terrorist - it' s all just opinion.
With the victors painting the vanquished as they see fit.
I would recommend you look up accepted definitions of words instead of just babbling about what you imagine they mean.

You want to do these verbal gymnastics - I'm not playing.
Words get abused and changed over time.
The concept of terrorist would be defined in the 1770' s would have been as scaliwag, scoundrel or something along those lines - as in - a cocksucker who fights dirty... As if war was ever fought fair....
The brits thought that anyone who didn' t line their troops in straight lines attired in proper uniforms was ac" terrorist" to use the current vernacular..... This extends to some degree up till around WWI.
Collins did not do that. Not even remotely.
Applying todays meanings of words to events in history is a lame tactic...
And furthermore - I don' t care about other countries lost wars....
It' s boring.
