Like I said before…if we’re going to advocate for something we should be able to do it plainly and clearly. You do not want nature to take its course. You do not want whatever is happening to happen. You do not want Ukraine to do what it wants or what’s best for Ukraine. You want the opposite of all of that - you want Russia to pull victory from the jaws of defeat through the abrupt abandonment of Ukraine.
I'm aware they've been going at it for a while now. They also discussed a peace deal a few times in the past year, and I'm pretty sure everyone would prefer the bloodshed and tens of thousands of lives lost to end if that were possible. Ukraine has much less of a reason to try to make peace when they are being given billions of dollars in funding though, which is just dragging out the carnage.
I don't want Putin, the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Kim Jong Un, or the Supreme Leader of Iran to be successful. I just don't want to be the world police who try to rule the entire planet. You have American politicians and political commentators who are even calling for a no-fly zone in Ukraine, which would literally mean directly attacking Russia militarily. We need to check ourselves.
