I confess to being puzzled as to why USians have such strong feelings (for and against) the British monarchy.
Firstly, it’s not your country or your king, why do you even care? You’re not subject to it, you’re not paying for it - why does it matter so much?
Secondly, there are scads of other hereditary monarchies in the world, but no Yanks seem to get themselves all twisted up over places like Spain or Norway or Jordan.
And for OLB specifically, of COURSE you as an American, wouldn’t be expected to call King Charles ‘your Highness’ (the proper form of address is ‘Your Majesty’).
