And not even in the sort of sensationalist โooh, polygamy, magic underwear, and living in an afterlife on another planetโ way, just in the same sort of mundane dysfunctions as everyone else. Itโs rather telling that (outside of a mommy blogger/barefoot model whose faith doesnโt come up all that often, and is probably something of a dissenter due to being openly bisexual), the closest thing Iโve found to a real-life Mormon who really had it together was Travis Alexander.
Well, it's hard to find a good metric for "dysfunctional" but we are taught in church that we have the lowest divorce rate, lowest teen pregnancy rate, and spend the highest percentage of our life volunteering for philanthropic causes such as feeding the homeless or building homes from scratch through "Habitat for Humanity".ย At the end of the day though, we are only human and we share the same struggles as you do. (stress, addictions, depression, worry, fear, etc..) As far as what you've read goes:
- Believe nothing of what you hear, and only half of what you see.ย
Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yes, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards to children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel. ๐
