Many people love cats, and many people think cats can love humans, but I think cats are evil beasts. No human being is so bloodthirsty like a cat is. Cats kill mice even when they are not hungry. I think cats, if they were bigger, would also kill and eat us humans the same way they now kill and eat mice. Big cats, lions and tigers, they can kill and eat humans, and they really do kill and eat humans, if given a chance to. Why would little cats, that many people love, be any different?Uhh....no. Cats are to be loved and rewarded every time they catch a filthy mouse. We live out in the country and we have huge problems with mice in our area, they carry hantavirus. Every year several people catch it while cleaning out pantries and closets and die. We have had a huge mouse problem this year. They have gotten into our large walk-in pantry and destroyed food and made a huge mess. We just acquired 3 cats and they are doing a bang-up job catching them. They get a special treat when they do.
I think everybody would agree that, if people own cats, those cats will probably kill innocent sentient (and the scientific consensus is that all birds and mammals are sentient) animals. So, why do cats deserve to live? Don't you think the world would be a better place if cats didn't exist?
I have started this discussion on several forums by now, for example, here and here.
The concept of evil does not apply to animals like cats and mice as they don't have volition as we do. Cats do what they do because they are programmed to do it and so do mice. Mice aren't saying to each other, hey let's make a big mess and spread hantavirus to humans. They just act on instinct.
I don't think you are being serious at all but this is a real sore point for me right now as I can't clean up until they are all dealt with and I have to wear a special mask when I do.
Oh, and I'm fully aware that if I died and nobody found me, yes my cats would eat me. But I'll be dead so I won't care. Eat away cats.
