The USA is proverbially bad at soccer, and watching a little bit of the world cup it seems that soccer players are small and skinny and almost like performing a ballet, while American culture is more about being bulky and big.
As I said, the USA is considered to be so bad that when the US team did beat England once many decades ago by 1:0, some newspapers thought that the guy at the telegraph office made a mistake because the US could certainly never be better than England, so they published that the result was 10 to 1 for England, and later learned that they made a mistake.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
