My house is located in a rural area at the edge of a forest. Deer Mice are numerous here and they can be very destructive when they get indoors. They're cute little creatures and I hate to kill them, but they've gotten into my pantry and kitchen too many times to put up with the damage they do to food and other household goods. They were even a problem when I operated a caterpillar farm, attacking sleeved branches to eat larvae and cocoons. My cats have bagged their share of them and I've eliminated many more with traps. I can't fault cats for catching mice. It's in their nature to be hunters.
