It all started with demonstration in the Taiwanese owned Apple production facility with workers having enough of Covid restrictions and trying to get out by force after dismantling cameras and confrontation with riot police. Than protests erupted in several cities after there was a fire in a building in Urumchi and fire fighters couldn’t intervene correctly because of Covid restriction.
The Problem is that China is stubbornly refusing Pfizer vaccines while their (old school) vaccine in only partially effective against newer variants of Covid and their medical system is said to be unready to cope with a surging number of patients (like we experienced about two years ago).
It’s cray how there is always worse than worse in the world. No one that I know of is even willing to remember about the pandemic now. Yet the Chinese are still in the middle of the “Mask, distance, hygiene” issue. Why wouldn’t they just buy a license for the new Omicron boosters for instance? (I remember hearing that Xi Chi Ping once told Joe Biden about some “more efficient aspects” of authoritarian rule. Is this what he was talking about?)
