Not talking about other countries, we’re talking about solving what you and your ilk think of as a problem.

And, for the record, travel between EU countries is virtually unrestricted - no border checks, no passports, etc. I realize that the US is more paranoid than EU member states, so you could do it in stages. Start with Mexico. Anyone who shows up at the border with something that proves they’re a Mexican national gets to live and work in the US. How hard is that?

How large of a population do you want to have in the US?  Do you want to allow any Mexican national to enter or just the ones who will work and pay taxes? How about those coming only to draw welfare?

-I don’t care how large a population the US has.

-Any Mexican, but I think you’ll find more of them want to work than don’t.

-Give them the assistance they need until they don’t need it any more.
