This is correct. However, if the black hole has an accretion disk, there is plenty of temperature in that plasma. If you fell into one, there would be plenty of that plasma that hasn't hit the singularity yet.
One fun fact - if you were to fall directly into a super-massive black hole from a large distance away, and you had no angular momentum (and didn't get ripped apart by infalling plasma), you would pass the event horizon without being ripped apart by tidal forces quite yet - and yet you would never see yourself passing the event horizon. That horizon is observer-dependent.
