You remember pre-2016 election? How people were warned of Trump? That he is every bit like a politician, just much, much worse? And do you remember the people defending him like "yeah, at least he is no politician"? As if not-being-a-politician was a quality in itself? Trumps intellect, personal moral values, everything about him was just worse that the worst politician, but hey, at least he wasnt a politician.

Its the same with people like Bel and the US. They root for whatever, whomever (even Russia, and i would not be surprised, North Korea or Iran), as long as it is-not-the-USA. "At least its  not US  or related)" is a quality in itself for those people. Ukraine is irrelevant to them, the people over there, their personal freedoms, economic status, culture, anything, completely irelevant. As long as its at-least-not-US.

Thats how morally and intellectually bankrupt their position is. And, of course, they are very useful idiots for a russian disinformation campaign. In Bels particulars case, his pathological need to appear smarter than anyone else (and smarter than he actually is, his pseudo intellectualism) made him even more susceptible to this idea.
