It’s the same as the Hong-Kong umbrella movement of the coup against Angh-San-Su-Chi in Myanmar. It’s like a “bad example” to have a democratic government nearby. Even if it’s completely harmless.
Similar issue: Wahhabi style Muslims + Iran simply hate us because we are secular. We’re not showing the good example so if there is an opportunity to change us back to what we were more than a century ago, they will invest (put their money) into that.
