To address this second part of your post, the bigotry promulgated by the government inside Russia itself against LGBT and races is a clear attempt to secure outside support for a regime that is busy searching out any source of support -- and freehandedly practicing the methods of the "fascism" it has appealed to in this invasion.
Meanwhile. it seems mainly Republicans of questionable mental composure here complain about supporting the fight. Is it because they don't care about Ukrainian civilians? Or is it because they've already been suborned by the rhetoric that aligns with their views for other reasons?
