Russia and Ukraine

India's interests are all about protecting their borders from China.  Up until recently Modi believed the bullshit that Russia was peddling about its wunderwaffen.  Given how piss poor Russian materiel has been in Ukraine and how missing Russia's latest weapons have been, even Modi must realise he's been had.  And if Russia is a waste of space for India, who does that leave?

India has been pivoting to American weapons for a while, with more to follow after this shitshow. They're deeply concerned about supply-chain issues hurting their ability to maintain their Russian military platforms -- both ground and air -- especially given the tightening Russian economy and its increasing reliance on Chinese components.

Understood. But the thing was India was willing to put up with a certain amount of that up until the invasion, for example India has heavily invested in the Armata despite no operational models being built. But the war in Ukraine has shown how much of a bad idea it is to depend on Russian weapons systems.
