Even before the sanctions they were produced in small numbers because they are enormously expensive. And this is why I am very sceptic about the new “locally produced” fighter planes of the President For 45 More Days.
And I am not a great fan of Russia either. But I see some serious lack of balance in the world when Russia is making huge concessions to Iran and assumes a vassal ship role toward China. This changes the whole dynamics of central Asia and gives too much power to China which is an authoritarian state and totally unpredictable for instance on the issue of Taiwan.
You should check out Lazerpig's recent video on the Armata, for example it's engine is based off the one used in Tigers, ie a badly upgraded WW2 engine. And given we haven't (to my knowledge) seen the Su-57 in combat and given that the Su-75 is a wooden mockup, neither of those appear to be much better.
