Sure, but..again, people report things that they think are ndes even when they are not near death. Death could be in a different zipcode entirely, and people still report them. The bionuerological hypothesis is, therefore, unlikely to account for the phenomena in it's entirety. It seems clear that a good deal of reported ndes and especially their contents are psychological (laying aside the vast majority that are complete fiction - the op lead in with stories that kids tell).
