This is the point where you full on flee reality, isn't it?  OFC there are "serious competitors" to islam...what can you even mean by that absurd statement?  

We're all ears. Name the religion you think would be a competitor, or a better candidate for God's message, than Islam.

I doubt that you're all ears, or even willing to listen - but..ofc..all religions are a serious competitor for islam.  

Oh, so now a god can't even have a chosen people? 

The God who fashioned stars, supernovas, galaxies, etc., who made universal physical laws for all the universe, doesn't fit the picture of a tribal god. 

It's also a god that doesn't exist.  Remember, the god that did x is predicate on x having been done.....but I'm not too concerned by that yet.  Every tribe swears their gods made the sun moon and stars.  Islam no less so.

More to the point, God having a chosen people runs contrary to benevolence, justness, and countless other properties that are traditionally attributed to Him.

You already shit on properties traditionally attributed to god™...but..It doesn't - and you'll have to come up with even more batshit ad hoc rationalizations to explain that batshit ad hoc rationalization.  

And one more thing: assuming God chose nation X, I either belong or don't belong to X, if I do, I'm safe without doing anything, if I don't, I'm doomed no matter what I do. Either way, I don't do anything and the entire issue becomes meaningless.

Again, consider all of the justifications you'd have to make for each of these statements..each likely to be more absurd than the last if the past few posts are any indication...and remember, even you know that it's not on the basis of any of these "arguments" that you believe what you do.  They're all ad hoc rationalizations for an immediate perceptual belief.

I think you already muddied the waters when you mentioned Islam, rather prematurely. I explained why prophets, heaven and hell, etc. make sense in general. If you agree with that, you can move forward and state why you think it's far fetched to consider Islam as a serious candidate.
