I’m going to debate a video that has been in social media for while know. Just look at the guy on the left-lower corner of the screen.
What I see there is total blindness. Just a pure-ego being that is entirely absorbed by a group of dogmas and belief systems that
1) Lacks all mean of critical thinking, is unable to relativize any event, is unable to debate, talk about his thoughts, beliefs, conviction etc. and does not even consider the possibility of being wrong. That’s a typical ego based attitude (in almost all religious teachings). And that a typically wrong type of attitude because it fails to approve of our human condition which is by definition (and within any true philosophical system) small and limited.
2) Is definitely not being “a nice guy”. People that I see as being spiritual are usually very nice persons. Also, it’s usually the only thing we are remembered with after we die. Some are remembered as “He/She was a very nice person” and others end up being forgotten altogether.
So I’m not here to annoy anyone with my not entirely scientific attitude. But to remind people of some basic issues that are not to be completely excluded the moment you declare yourself to be a “this” or “that”![]()
On the positive side, he was immediately and physically ejected from the shop by other Iranian men.

Things aren’t the way they were before the death of Jina Mahsa Amini. The picture below is from 5 days ago and were taken in Teheran.
But there is deeper social / political issue here. Not real power, but Ego-based power is a fear based issue. You may check Machiavelli or Thomas Hobbes (The Leviathan) to understand this. And it is usually people who are ready to do the most hideous things who end up getting this type of power. Yet this power usually ends when people are brave enough to say “I choose not to be afraid of you anymore”. And this happened in Berlin in November 1989, It happened in the civil rights movement between 1954-1968, in the anti-apartheid movement between 1960-1994 and so on and so forth.
