Talk about muslims before islam... I have heard that the term Mohammad was used by Arab Christians for Jesus until the mid-8th century. Mecca didn’t exist in the 7th century. No archeological evidence. No historical evidence. And Mecca wasn’t on any historical map until the year 900.
Also Mecca is not a fertile place as Quran claims it to be, at least not until the 20th century when Saudi Arabia started to have water desalination plants built.
The Dome of the Rock was not a Mosque; it was built by Abdul al-Malik as an anti-trinitarian Christian building.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
