It might be hard to do right now, since he rules Russia and he should have diplomatic immunity right now, with diplomatic immunity being an outdated concept, is it not?
It doesn't apply in this case, because the signatories agreed that in the event of a warrant, such niceties are set aside. He gets no immunity from being Russia's ruler.

He can only lie so much to his people, and with his arrest warranted, even if he wins the war, he might not have long to control Ukraine or do what he wants with it, whatever happens; he just has so much going against him that he may not be able to celebrate any victory for so long.
Likely true. He recently turned 71 is rumored to have some health issues, the extent(s) of which aren't clear.
I suspect he invaded Ukraine because he wanted to cement his place in Russian history by rebuilding Old Russia as it was in Tsarist times -- and he knew he wasn't getting any younger.
Instead, it appears his legacy will be the bankrupting of his country for at least a generation, and its entry into a Chinese orbit.
That is interesting. I wish Trump could have done something to get a warrant for his arrest issued. Even though it may have been unlikely since the beginning of his presidency, he seemed like the guy who would do something as bad as Putin to warrant this.
And yeah, he was like many who were stuck in the past. That said, whatever happens, I don't think he will last so long as a ruler and as a person after that.

Russians told us they captured all of Bakhmut back in May. Haven't done much with it. One time in the US civil war about 12,000 men marched a mile over sun-baked fields into the mouths of Union cannon and musket fire. Maybe two hundred of 'em got up and over the stone wall where the boys in blue were holed up. Nothing much came of that either.
Thanks for telling me all this. Seems like there is incompetence there. That may be part of what adds to Russia's downfall in this war. Nice bringing up the US civil war, too.
