Tissue expanders are a fun as they sound. Imagine someone putting rough grit sandpaper between your muscle and skin so that every tiny movement is uncomfortable. I get that they are to help prevent scar tissue but even breathing hurt.
Kind of surprised I am still around to have that delightful memory.
I wrecked a go kart when I was 15 and had to have an emergency surgery to save my left arm, plus a bone graft a couple months later, they put some metal in my arm as well as the graft, huge scars on that arm, I could've easily just died from blood loss after the accident but I was not alone, I had been driving too fast and over corrected a turn, the passenger got away with a dislocated shoulder.
