From a cynical beancounting pov, ukraine is all upside for the us, which makes the agents, traitors, and arsonists line in our government especially hollow and self serving.
Even the gear we're sending is largely older stuff already in the process of being replaced, and sunk-cost. It's already paid-for, and the only expense is the Jet-A burnt to fly it over.
