But, cops, the people allegedly trained and payed to deal with these situations, might have been killed, and that we cannot have. Dead teachers? Fine.* Dead kids? Acceptable.* Dead cops? That's a bridge too fucking far!* Besides, just think of the cost to the taxpayer for those funeral parades.
(*)At least, according to out elected officials based on their thoughts, prayers, and lack of meaningful efforts to curb these fucking atrocities.
That's why they get paid the big bucks. <shrug>
