Believe me, I'd love to freely be able to jump ship to Linux... all my family uses it, and are perfect happy with it. The problem is the main thing I use Windows for is gaming; if Steam was fully supported on Linux, I'd make the move without a second thought and without looking back; I hate being beholden to a company that clearly has no respect for its customers, just in order to play games. I know Steam is trying to make at least some games compatible so that's at least a step in the right direction. Steam is about the only tech company left that I still trust and respect, because they haven't (IMO) gone the route of trying to exploit their customers... yet at least... so I hope they fully integrate with Linux in the future, one way or another... if that's possible, and fits in with the ethos of Linux, them being commercial and all.
You know the Steam Deck runs a Linux distro, right? I game a lot on steam and every one of my "windoze only" games run, with a little help from the Wine and Proton compatibility layers.
Or, you can always dual boot...
