Its extremely uncommon, but it does happen, and it points to a biological origin for sexual orientation. That being said, I believe sexual orientation is a permanent state for most people.
I wish for references because I find the concept of a brain injury changing something as ethereal as sexual identity to be fascinating, as fascinating as the man who survived a rail spike through the nogging, which utterly changed his personality.
