Sorry, but "the customer is always right" was never intended to placate Karen.

A little history lesson. The phrase "the customer is always right" was never intended to placate the customer on his or her whims. The original intent was simply to agree with the customer on his or her personal taste in a product.
Therefore, forgive me if I prefer to believe in the intended purpose rather than what was twisted by corporations.
