Their perception of America is a very specific, white-male version of our country where women and all those [insert racial slur here] knew their fucking place. Rich fucks like Trump and Musk have hijacked this idealized bigotry in order to provide cover for their looting the nation's coffers, in my opinion.
They're not even bothering with dog-whistles any more. They're all, "Here, Spot! Fetch!" ... and their lapdogs immediately jump up yipping and yapping and running around in a frenzy.
