That's literally all I put in the reply. I thought that anything I said probably wouldn't matter, but surely she cared what Jesus had to say since she loves him so much, and all.

That's a very interesting response.
I'd love to ask her just what other parts of the bible I can pick and choose to ignore.

Next time just bring a copy of the bible with you, and show that verse to your aunt. If she says "we dont have to follow that rule"
Says "I agree" and then rip that page out of the bible, ball it up and toss it on the ground.
Then flip over to the dietary laws in the old testament and ask her if she eats shell fish, or does she agree with God that its an abomination.
If she says "the new testament says other wise" then say "I agree" and rip that page out of the bible, ball it up and toss it on the ground.
You could pretty much do that all day.
