Somehow, the powers that be are making it even worse.
Washington is pretty easy, almost everything can be done online.
When we first moved to TX and went to get new licenses, it wasn't awful. And they had it set up so that every other time you could do it online. Not too bad. But now they want to see every document you have to renew so they can prove it's really you. I have gathered my birth certificate, my DD214, my marriage license, and will offer my first born in order to keep a license. I will be 68 in June...I have not suddenly become an undocumented immigrant and I have to prove that. Hell, one side of my family has been in the states since the 1650s.
Perhaps I should bring my other grandfather's immigration papers...I have them.
