I understand. The flag I took down is still in the closet where I store household goods. Every time I open the door to get something, I see the flag leaning against the wall and my heart hurts a little more.
It it helps (it probably doesn’t), most non-Americans don’t hate the US. We’re saddened - and a little fearful - by what it has become.
