I have read the press release of the "Bundesamt für Verfasungsschutz" (Agency for Protection of the Constitution), and the central point was: Key AfD figures, and thus the AfD as a whole, propagates Ethno Nationalism, which is unconstitutional, because it puts "Germans with migration background (the PC description of German nationals with non german ethnicity) at a systematic disadvantage with regard to either acquiring or keeping german citizenship.
It's possible I guess but capitulating before extremists cause of fear of them screaming about persecution would be a failure of the state. It would show that everything goes at least if you can scream loud about law "persecuting" you.
