How about a model of democracy where people get voting power equivalent to their IQs? Higher IQs equal more sway to what they choose. I realize this will never happen because stupid people control everything but it's nice to think about.

But seriously, getting rid of the electoral college is a good start.

The issue isn't that low IQ people or uneducated people were allowed to vote. It's that those that stand to loose the most were actively prevented from voting. Whether by people hanging around outside polling stations or mass queries as to individuals right to vote.
That is a direct attack against the people, undermining their democratic rights and setting up the overthrow of democracy.
Restricting suffrage isn't the answer, expanding and reinforcing it is.
Given the way in which access toi education is allocated via ethnic lines in the US far from fixing the issue the proposal would reinforce the problem.
